Why Failure is Your Superpower
Every Missed Opportunity is a Step Towards Your Next Breakthrough
Success is rarely pretty. It’s messy, unpredictable, and usually comes with more bruises than trophies. My journey—from the corporate grind to serial entrepreneurship—has been no exception. It’s been a roller coaster of missteps, stumbles, and hard-earned lessons. I didn’t stumble into success. I built it, brick by brick, failure by failure.
But here’s the part no one likes to say out loud: persistence doesn’t always mean pushing through with the same idea. Sometimes, persistence looks like closing a business that’s bleeding cash. Sometimes it’s pivoting hard when the market shifts. And sometimes, it’s having the courage to start something new—again and again—because deep down, you know the next one might just hit.
I’ve been a serial entrepreneur for more than 25 years. During that time, what I’ve learned is simple but powerful: failure is feedback. We’re all walking feedback loops—constantly processing, iterating, and evolving. Every mistake, missed opportunity, or flawed decision isn’t a dead end—it’s a data point. And if you’re paying attention, those data points will guide you to your next breakthrough.
My first major feedback loop began in the structured world of a Fortune 500 tech company. I had early success, rapid promotions, great pay, huge commissions—the works. But something didn’t sit right. I got to know the leaders at the top and realized: I didn’t want their lives. I wanted freedom. Financial independence. Control over my time, my upside, and my impact.
So I went big, like I always do. While still climbing the corporate ladder, I dove headfirst into real estate investing. But I wasn’t dabbling—I was building systems to buy, renovate, rent, and sell properties at scale. It was high-risk, high-reward, and far from glamorous. When deals fell apart and cash got tight, I had to adapt fast, solve real problems, and keep moving.
Real estate was my boot camp. It taught me how to navigate chaos, manage risk, and think like an entrepreneur. It also gave me the confidence to bet on myself and leap into something bigger. That leap—combined with my corporate tech background—is what eventually pushed me into building tech companies, where everything started to click.
Over the years, I’ve launched more than 30 businesses. Twenty of them failed. Ten succeeded. And in those wins, one pattern became crystal clear: custom software is the ultimate business multiplier. The companies that scaled weren’t just working harder—they were building smarter. They automated what didn’t need human input. They streamlined broken processes. They delivered better customer experiences. They used technology to create leverage that competitors simply couldn’t match.
That evolution led me to create Sonatafy Technology—a company built to help businesses scale by providing elite software engineering services. We build systems that fuel growth, stay aligned with business goals, and move fast. It wasn’t easy. There were setbacks, bad calls, and near-meltdowns. But each one sharpened my perspective and clarified my mission.
Entrepreneurship is a lot like lifting heavy at the gym. Resistance isn’t the problem—it’s the process. Every failure made me sharper, stronger, and more resilient. In the best way possible.
I recently published Fail Hard. Win Big. on Amazon. The book is the product of that mindset. It’s part memoir, part playbook. In it, I share the raw truth of what it’s like to build from scratch, fall flat, and come back swinging. I also show how custom software development—when built with intention—becomes a strategic weapon. Not just a tool for efficiency, but a platform for growth, differentiation, and scale. When done right, software doesn’t just support the business—it becomes the business.
Everything I’ve achieved is built on three core beliefs:
1. Discipline beats talent. Grit, consistency, and focused action always outpace raw skill.
2. Failure is fuel. If you’re not failing, you’re not innovating.
3. Software is leverage. The right system lets you scale with speed, clarity, and confidence.
